An invitation to Dane County Community Members:
One of the most valuable and powerful tools in emergencies is an accurate and reliable source of information. Various polls have consistently rated employers as a source for accurate and useful information. In emergencies, employers are clearly the highest rated source for accurate emergency information. So how do you plan to communicate with employees in an emergency?
The Partnership will be hosting a workshop on Emergency Communication on Wednesday October 26, 2011 from 1 - 4:00 pm at Madison College – West Campus (302 S. Gammon Rd., Madison, WI 53717). The focus of the workshop will be on communication processes and strategies that include internal messaging, utilization of social media (such as Facebook and Twitter), and strategies for working with the media in emergencies.
Topics of discussion include:
· What is an emergency communications strategy (ECS)?
· Why you need an ECS.
· When to use an ECS.
· What are the available communication tools?
· How to develop an ECS.
· Materials that can help guide you through developing an ECS.
The Partnership understands your time is at a premium, so the workshops are designed to be concise and informative. The Partnership’s goal is to provide you with information that will give you a basic foundation for developing planning strategies and connect you with a network of professionals that can work with you to build on that foundation.
